RevenueChef's Tables and Ticketed Events: Selling Experiences From Your Menu
By the WowMenu team ยท Published Oct 12, 2026 ยท 7 min read
Some evenings are not ordinary dinners: a chef's table for eight, a monthly wine tasting, a New Year's Eve gala, a live jazz night. These are experiences, and they sell better, and lose less to no-shows, when you sell them like tickets.
Events vs ticketed experiences
- Events are things happening at the restaurant that you want guests to know about, such as a weekly live music night. They appear at the top of the guest's menu.
- Ticketed experiences have a fixed number of prepaid seats, such as a chef's table or a tasting. Guests book and pay to reserve.

Setting one up
- Name and describe it the way your team would talk about it.
- Set the schedule: a single date, or every Saturday, or the last Thursday of the month.
- Price per seat, and set the capacity.
- Choose the branch, or mark it for all branches.
- Write the policy for transfers and refunds.
Why prepaid seats matter
A chef's table that seats eight is a significant evening for the kitchen. Prepaid seats protect it the way a deposit protects a large booking: if a guest cannot come, the seat can be transferred under your policy rather than left empty.
Track it like a product
For each experience, watch seats sold against capacity, revenue and sold-out status. Revenue lands in Billing with the rest of your sales.

Selling it
- Put it on the menu, where guests already are
- Mention it to guests who loved a similar evening
- Message opted-in regulars with a short, specific invitation
- Give each influencer or partner their own code
Ideas that work
- A monthly chef's table with a fixed tasting menu
- A wine or coffee tasting with a short talk
- Seasonal dinners such as Ramadan iftars or a New Year's Eve gala
- A cooking class on a quiet afternoon
